Tumblr lets you post with a phone call

Tumblr is taking it back to the cool days with their Dial A Post ServiceYou can now  make an audio post on the social network by calling a toll-free number. All you have to do to try this feature is link your phone number to your account and then you’re ready to go.

Go try it! Be a rebel and talk your head off on the world wide web!

Live CES Coverage

So if you don’t know, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is a global consumer technology trade show that takes place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Not open to the public, the sponsored show typically hosts previews of products and new product announcements.

New ultrabook delivers 22-hour battery life

Compared to the macbook air which has a 12 hour battery life, this new Toshiba  ultrabook model will deliver 22 hours of battery life on a single charge. Along with its amazing battery life, the Dynabook Kira V634 offers a 13.3-inch display with 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Haswell processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, support for 4K video output and a weight of only 1.12 kilograms.

Toshiba will start selling the ultrabook in Japan on November 20th for 144,000 yen ($1,446) and 153,000 yen ($1,530). An international launch date is currently not available.

Apple purchases PrimeSense, Creator of Kinect.

According to 9to5mac and Israeli publication Calcalist.co.il, Apple has purchased PrimeSense, the company that created the original Microsoft Kinect technology for $345 Million. This recent purchase will soon allow Apple to add controls that will require body movements. Similar to what has been seen on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Apple has been working on its own gesture-controlled OS as seen below.
Microsoft used PrimeSense’s technology for the original Kinect. They have since replaced PrimeSense’s technology for their own in-house 3D mapping systems.
