Apple purchases PrimeSense, Creator of Kinect.

According to 9to5mac and Israeli publication Calcalist.co.il, Apple has purchased PrimeSense, the company that created the original Microsoft Kinect technology for $345 Million. This recent purchase will soon allow Apple to add controls that will require body movements. Similar to what has been seen on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Apple has been working on its own gesture-controlled OS as seen below.
Microsoft used PrimeSense’s technology for the original Kinect. They have since replaced PrimeSense’s technology for their own in-house 3D mapping systems.

Here’s a video of their technology in use.

GTA Online “We’re Sorry”

So as many of you know, GTA Online launched this pass Tuesday and many people have been having server issues, the game failing to load and disconnection issues. I myself have been plagued with the problem and I am totally bummed at the fact that I can’t get on.

On there support site they did release a statement saying “We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this,”. The major problem of this release was that they were not expecting the popularity of the game to be so big. They did say last week that their servers may not be able to handle GTA’s popularity, also stating “We are working around the clock to buy and add more servers, but this increased scale is only going to make the first few days even more temperamental than such things usually are.”

I guess until then we will wait and see what happens.

Xbox One

Well it is not the Xbox Infinity but the Xbox one! Microsoft describes their new console as “the ultimate all in one entertainment system – one system for a new generation.” The new Xbox wants to be the one-stop entertainment solution for your living room, integrating live TV, games, movies and web services like Skype, all controlled using Microsoft’s second generation of kinetic. Its really neat, to turn the system on all you have to say is “Xbox On”. The console is always listening!

Heres a video by Tech Radar giving you a scoop on the new console.

Xbox Infinity?

Speculation of Microsoft’s next generation Xbox has been going on for quite some time now and today IGN revels news on several domain names that Microsoft has registered such as,  Xbox8.us, Xbox8.org, Xboxphone.com and a few others with the Xbox name. According to sources speaking with The International Business Times, the name for the next generation console will be Xbox Infinity. Sources related to development of the new Xbox have confirmed to IBTimes UK that the console will indeed be called Infinity.

While this information is still unconfirmed, we will just have to wait until May 21’st to get solid information about the up and coming console. So until then keep your guesses going and come back here to dlcToday for the latest info.
