Amazon List Wii U Release

As of right now we know that Nintendo has confirmed the Wii U will release worldwide this holiday season, which leaves us to this question. When will the console go on sale? According to Amazon Germany, the new system will arrive on December 21, priced at €399, or about $500.

The original Wii launched in North America during November 2006 at $250 and arrived in Europe a month later for €250.

Earlier this month, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said the Wii U must retail for under $300 at launch.

The Wii U is Nintendo’s first high-definition console and has gigantic shoes to fill if it wants to replicate the success of its predecessor. The original Wii launched in 2006 and is presently the top-seller in the current generation, topping the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Microsoft Reveals Windows 8 Phone

Big news everyone! Microsoft unveiled Windows Phone 8 today – a new operating system that slackens Microsoft’s previous hardware restrictions, and adds a slate of pivotal new features, ranging from NFC, to MicroSD expansion support, and more.

The All new Windows 8 Phone now supports duel core process unlike their previous versions. Ironically, it’s only been about two months since Nokia CEO and Microsoft’s trojan horse Stephen Elop said, “The so-called dual-core, quad-core mobile phones can only waste batteries, but not be useful for consumers all the time.”

Now look at them, LOL.

Windows Phone 8 will also come with support for three resolutions:

  • WVGA, at 800x480px
  • True 720p, at 1280x720px
  • WXGA, at 1280x768px

Among the aesthetic changes, Microsoft’s new home screen is the most obvious. Users now have 3 sizes to choose from for their on fit. Developers will also, for the first time, be able to custom design the larger tiles – undoubtedly leading to a less simplistic homescreen.

There are now tons of features opn the new Window 8 phone that will help it compete with Apple and Android, including Skype integration, and in-app purchases.

While most of these improvements have been seen on iOS and Android, Microsoft is doing a great job at taking smart steps to improve their phone OS.

Now it goes all the way back down to the customer, what do you think? Will your next phone be a Windows 8 Phone?

Enter the Dominatrix Now Part of Saints Row 4

The planned expansion pack for Saints Row the Third, Enter the Dominatrix, has been merged with Saints Row 4.

Publisher THQ revealed to Eurogamer that Enter the Dominatrix has been cancelled, with all of its content instead merged into the next entry in the hit franchise. (Saints Row 4)

THQ president Jason Rubin revealed, “When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise.

“I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game.
“When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.”

Rubin also revealed that the profits for the rescheduled production won’t appear until the financial year ending 2014, meaning a release is likely to take place after April 2013.

Enter the Dominatrix originally started as an April Fools joke before the company actually decided to do the project. More on this game will be posted here on Muffin Cap in the coming months.
